Apple Prepares Massive Retail Showcase for iPhone Duo
Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman revealed today in his latest Power On newsletter that Apple is planning a massive promotional showcase for its first foldable smartphone, the Apple iPhone Duo. This ambitious rollout ensures every potential customer can fully experience the highly anticipated new product.
Gurman stated that Apple will deploy an unprecedented number of prototype units across Apple Store retail locations nationwide for hands-on customer trials.
Unprecedented Retail Deployment
The flagship store on New York’s Fifth Avenue is expected to feature over 150 display units distributed throughout the hands-on zones and exhibition structures. Meanwhile, the Apple Park Visitor Center at the company’s headquarters is slated to exhibit 100 iPhone Duo devices.
Furthermore, Apple Stores on Chicago’s Michigan Avenue, at Los Angeles’ The Grove, and on Manhattan’s Upper West Side are projected to offer 30 to 40 demonstration units each. Even smaller retail locations will receive approximately 20 iPhone Duo handsets. Considering this smartphone only launches in two colorways, this allocation volume is notably extraordinary.
Redesigned MagSafe and Untethered Experiences
Gurman also disclosed that Apple has engineered a completely new MagSafe display stand. This innovative fixture can simultaneously hold one unfolded iPhone Duo alongside two traditional straight-bar iPhones.
In a bold move to enhance the customer experience, certain peripheral areas within select Apple Stores will feature untethered iPhone Duo units without anti-theft security devices. This hands-on approach allows patrons to authentically experience the smartphone’s standby mode in a natural setting.
Additionally, reports indicate that Apple plans to design entirely new exhibition fixtures for specific retail locations. These dedicated displays will specifically demonstrate the folding and unfolding mechanism of the iPhone Duo. This strategic presentation guarantees that the foldable device will immediately capture the attention of any customer walking through the store doors.
