Technology publication MacObserver recently curated user feedback from platforms such as Reddit and X, offering a comprehensive overview of how iPhone 18 Pro owners are experiencing the newly released iOS 27.2 Beta 3 update.
1. Resolution of AssistiveTouch and Wallet Latency
One iPhone user reported experiencing noticeable latency when utilizing AssistiveTouch and the Wallet application prior to the update. However, following the installation of iOS 27.2 Beta 3, this frustrating delay has entirely vanished. Note: AssistiveTouch serves as a digital alternative for hardware buttons and complex gestures, allowing users with Face ID-equipped iPhones to authenticate Apple Pay transactions without double-clicking the side button.
2. Persistent Siri Mail Retrieval Failures
A tester detailed an ongoing issue within an iOS 27.2 Beta 3 discussion forum: when commanding Siri to locate specific emails, the system occasionally returns an empty result, even when the corresponding message is clearly visible within the Mail application. Apple has not yet officially recognized this anomaly as resolved, nor does it appear in the public release notes. Presently, it remains an isolated observation, with the precise scope, triggering conditions, and affected account types remaining ambiguous.
3. Enhanced Operational Fluidity
Following the deployment of iOS 27.2 Beta 3, select ProMotion iPhone users noted that the operating system feels significantly more fluid compared to Beta 2. Nevertheless, as noted in various assessments of how iOS 27.2 Beta 3 ProMotion performance is mixed, terms like “smoother” and “more responsive” often reflect subjective perceptions. It remains difficult to definitively attribute these improvements to core system optimizations, specific application updates, or individual usage patterns.
4. Rectification of the AirPlay Menu Jitter
Users indicate that iOS 27.2 Beta 3 rectifies a jarring interface glitch where the AirPlay device selector would jump erratically during its loading sequence, thereby mitigating the risk of users inadvertently connecting to the wrong equipment. This erratic behavior previously caused the roster of available devices to shift abruptly upon display, leading individuals to select incorrect speakers or televisions. A participant in the Beta 3 community discussions observed that, formerly, the initial AirPlay option would render partially off-screen before snapping into its correct position. Upon updating, the menu display now maintains unwavering stability.
5. Improved Cellular Connectivity
Following the installation of the beta firmware, one iPhone user documented a perceptible enhancement in overall cellular network performance.
6. Elimination of App Switcher Animation Glitches
Subsequent to the release, testers report the eradication of a persistent animation glitch within the app switcher. One individual noted that visual stuttering temporarily vanishes upon installing Beta 3. Earlier feedback indicated that if a user swiped through recent applications immediately upon summoning the app switcher, the application cards might freeze or skip frames. This anomaly was notably more prevalent during rapid transitions than when allowing the initial animation to conclude gracefully.
7. Amplified Parallax Effects for Wallpapers
Two independent testers observed that the dynamic wallpaper movements in iOS 27.2 Beta 3 are distinctly more pronounced than in preceding iterations. Images possessing clear foreground subjects and rich depth-of-field data exhibit layered motion far more readily. Conversely, flat graphics or tightly cropped photographs may not display a discernible difference.
8. Refined Photos App Grid Layout
Observers note that the photographic grid presents a more compact arrangement compared to Beta 2. The peripheral white space encircling the thumbnails has been subtly reduced, allowing the images to occupy a marginally larger footprint within the Collections view.
9. Expanded Testing of the Revamped Health Application
Apple is presently distributing the redesigned Health application to a broader cohort of beta testers. This comprehensive overhaul introduces two novel sections, Insights and Longevity, while concurrently deploying the daily readiness score feature specifically tailored for users of the Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4.
