Banana Pi Introduces BPI-CM7 Compute Module

Late last month, Banana Pi officially introduced the new BPI-CM7 compute module. This highly capable board utilizes the Allwinner H618 chipset. Furthermore, it features a robust quad-core Arm Cortex-A53 CPU alongside a reliable Arm Mali-G31 GPU.

Comprehensive Memory and Connectivity

The BPI-CM7 system incorporates 2GB of fast LPDDR4 memory and 32GB of eMMC flash storage. Additionally, it integrates a sophisticated Kertong K019 wireless module. This specific component relies on the Infineon CYW43455 processor to deliver dual-band Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity. Moreover, the hardware design includes a 256B EEPROM for localized data retention.

Compact Dimensions and Expandable I/O

This compact compute module measures exactly 55 millimeters in length and 40 millimeters in width. It greatly expands its operational capabilities through dual 100-pin connectors located underneath the board. Consequently, these high-density connectors provide seamless access to a comprehensive array of interface options. The supported connections include HDMI output, 100MbE networking, one USB 2.0 OTG port, three USB 2.0 host interfaces, and dedicated microSD card support.
