Nvidia to Launch GeForce RTX 5080 24GB Version in 2027
Recent reports from BenchLife and insider @hongxing2020 indicate a major GPU lineup shift. Nvidia will halt the production of its GeForce RTX 5090 and RTX 5090 D v2 models. Furthermore, the company will adjust its GeForce RTX 5080 graphics card offerings.
Upgrading the RTX 5080 Memory
Specifically, Nvidia plans to discontinue the current 16GB variant of the GeForce RTX 5080. Instead, the hardware manufacturer will introduce a robust 24GB memory version. Consumers can expect this new model to hit the market during the first quarter of 2027. Consequently, AIC partners should receive the necessary development materials very soon.
Technical Specifications and Expectations
Barring any unexpected changes, the new GeForce RTX 5080 24GB will feature eight 24Gb (3GB) GDDR7 DRAM dies. However, some vital technical details currently remain unconfirmed. For instance, experts are unsure if this upgraded model will boost the memory equivalent rate. Additionally, we do not know if the overall power consumption will increase like the previously leaked SUPER variants.
