European buyers who want a Snapdragon-powered Galaxy S27 may not have to buy the Ultra. Trade records list the Galaxy S27 Pro with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6. The cheaper Galaxy S27 and S27+ show Samsung’s own Exynos 2700 instead.
Notebookcheck reported the four European listings on November 4. They come from NBD, a trade data platform that tracks import and export records. Samsung has not announced the Galaxy S27 series, so none of this is official.
What the trade listings show
Each entry carries a European model number ending in “B/DS”. Each also names a chip, a screen size and a memory setup. GSMArena and Android Headlines carried the same details.
| Model | Model number | Chip listed | Screen | RAM / storage |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Galaxy S27 | SM-S952B/DS | Exynos 2700 | 6.3 inches | 12GB / 256GB |
| Galaxy S27+ | SM-S956B/DS | Exynos 2700 | 6.7 inches | 12GB / 256GB |
| Galaxy S27 Pro | SM-S957B/DS | SM8950 (Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6) | 6.5 inches | 12GB / 256GB |
| Galaxy S27 Ultra | SM-S958B/DS | SM8975 (Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6) | 6.9 inches | 12GB / 256GB |
That adds up to three chips across four phones. The Pro and the Ultra both use Qualcomm parts, but not the same one. The records do not reveal whether Samsung plans other memory or storage options.
What changes for European buyers
Earlier rumors had the Pro sharing the Exynos 2700 with the base models in Europe. Under that plan, only the Ultra would have offered a Snapdragon chip there. These listings suggest a different split.
If the records hold, Europe gets two Snapdragon models. The Pro would pair a Qualcomm chip with a smaller 6.5-inch screen. Buyers who choose the S27 or S27+ in Europe should expect the Exynos 2700. Anyone who wants the top Qualcomm chip would still need the Ultra.
The catch is the chip tier. Notebookcheck called the Pro’s lower-tier chip the surprising part of the leak. It compared the setup to Xiaomi’s 18 series. There, the smaller 18 Pro uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, and the 18 Pro Max uses the Extreme variant.
Other reported differences between the Pro and the base model
- Cameras: A July Notebookcheck report said the Pro gets a 16-megapixel autofocus selfie camera. It also listed a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera instead of a 12-megapixel one.
- Display panels: Android Headlines reported M16 OLED panels for the Pro and Ultra. The S27 and S27+ would use M14+ panels.
- DC dimming: Tipster WalleGalaxy posted on X that the Pro and Ultra displays support DC dimming, which aims to reduce eye strain.
- Shared features: Notebookcheck said the Privacy Display should come to all four models. The stylus should stay exclusive to the Ultra.
These points come from earlier leaks, not from the NBD records. Treat them as unconfirmed.
How the chip story got here
Reports about Samsung’s chip choices have shifted for months. GSMArena tracked the back-and-forth in an October 30 roundup.
- July 24, 2026: WinFuture found export records listing the European Pro, SM-S957B, with a Qualcomm application processor. Records for the S27 and S27+ listed both Samsung’s LSI chip unit and Qualcomm.
- July 2026: Another report claimed the Pro would use Snapdragon only in select regions and Exynos 2700 elsewhere.
- Early September 2026: Unnamed insiders claimed Samsung was building Exynos 2700 Ultras for Korea and Europe.
- Early October 2026: Samsung reportedly started mass producing the Exynos 2700, with the Ultra decision still open.
- Mid-October 2026: A report said the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 ran too hot in Samsung’s tests. Qualcomm denied it.
- October 30, 2026: Leaker Ice Universe said there was still no sign of an Exynos Ultra in Europe. South Korea remained uncertain.
- November 4, 2026: The NBD listings show the three-chip split for Europe.
Technical details: two kinds of Snapdragon
The listings use Qualcomm’s part numbers rather than marketing names. WinFuture described the SM8950 and SM8975 as two variants of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 family. They differ mainly in clock speeds, so the SM8975 runs faster. The SM8975 can also work with LPDDR6 memory as an option.
Android Headlines tied the multi-chip lineup to Qualcomm splitting its flagship chip into two versions this year. For the Pro, that means a current flagship chip, just not the fastest one.
What remains unclear
- Other regions: The records cover European models only. GSMArena said other regions still need confirmation from several sources.
- US and Korea: Android Headlines expects the US and a few other markets to get Snapdragon in the S27 and S27+. It also called the Pro’s chip in Korea uncertain. Both are expectations, not confirmed facts.
- Launch timing: Android Headlines expects a launch in the first quarter of 2027, most likely January or February. In July, WinFuture expected an unveiling in spring 2027.
- Late changes: WinFuture noted that Samsung once dropped a planned S25 Edge successor shortly before launch. Plans for the S27 could also change.
Samsung has not commented on the listings. Until it does, the three-chip lineup is a strong lead from trade data, not a final plan.
