According to Bloomberg reports, event organizers confirmed that Tesla will showcase its Cybercab robotaxi at the upcoming Paris Auto Show, which opens on October 12. For deeper insights into this announcement, readers can explore the Bloomberg Cybercab report.

Serge Gachot, director of the Paris Auto Show, revealed during a phone interview on Tuesday that attendees will also be able to test drive six additional Tesla vehicles. Notably, all six cars come equipped with the American automaker’s advanced Full Self-Driving system.

The Cybercab Experience

While visitors cannot physically ride inside the Cybercab, the vehicle marks its official European debut. Designed entirely without a steering wheel or traditional foot pedals, the innovative pod represents a cornerstone of Tesla’s future strategy.

The company aims to transcend traditional automotive manufacturing, transforming into an artificial intelligence powerhouse encompassing autonomous fleets and humanoid robotics. Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk envisions the vehicle as the fundamental core of a massive driverless taxi service, with planned deployments spanning across the United States.

Broader Exhibition Highlights

Other prominent exhibitors at the Paris Auto Show include Stellantis NV, the parent company of Peugeot and Citroen. Under the leadership of Chief Executive Officer Antonio Filosa, Stellantis plans to present over sixty vehicles across eight distinct brands. The automotive giant intends to leverage this massive showcase to drive a robust brand recovery.

Meanwhile, rival manufacturer Renault SA expects to display roughly fifty production and concept vehicles. Among them is the refreshed Dacia Spring electric vehicle, which will be assembled locally in Europe to qualify for regional manufacturing subsidies.

Additional international participants include Chinese automakers BYD and Xpeng, alongside the German automotive giant Volkswagen Group. Notably, BMW Group announced earlier this year that it would skip the Paris event. Following a major profit warning, newly appointed Chief Executive Officer Milan Nedeljkovic has been aggressively implementing sweeping cost-reduction measures across the company.
