Samsung Galaxy SmartTag3: Advanced Cross-Platform Tracker
Samsung Electronics officially unveiled the next-generation Galaxy SmartTag3 tracker today.
Compact Design and Availability
This sophisticated device is remarkably diminutive. It is approximately 35 percent smaller than its predecessor. Additionally, it weighs 33 percent less. Individual units retail for a competitive 29.99 dollars. Conversely, a convenient four-pack costs 99.99 dollars. The manufacturer will officially launch this accessory in early November. Consumers can select between elegant white and classic black finishes. Furthermore, buyers can purchase supplementary accessories separately. These options include versatile silicone cases and rugged carabiner attachments.
Remarkable Battery Endurance
The new tracker delivers extraordinary battery longevity. Under standard usage, the device operates for an impressive 550 days. Meanwhile, activating the power-saving mode extends this endurance to a staggering 790 days. For context, the previous generation managed only 500 and 700 days, respectively.
Unprecedented Cross-Platform Tracking
For the first time ever, the tracker embraces seamless cross-system compatibility. Therefore, it functions flawlessly with Apple iOS devices alongside standard Galaxy hardware. Users can effortlessly monitor and share the tracker’s precise location through the SmartThings Find application. Moreover, they can utilize the localized proximity search feature across supported platforms.
Advanced Location Technology
Regarding its search capabilities, the newly announced Samsung Galaxy SmartTag3 leverages cutting-edge Bluetooth 6.0 technology. Consequently, the intuitive Compass View feature now provides directional guidance up to 60 meters away. This represents roughly triple the effective range of the previous iteration. Once users move closer, ultra-wideband technology delivers astonishingly precise detection results.
The Global Find Network
Occasionally, the tag will wander beyond its direct connection radius. When this happens, owners can rely on the expansive Samsung Galaxy Find Network. This immense global web utilizes over 900 million participating devices to triangulate and update the item’s location continuously.
Intelligent Location Notifications
Additionally, the tracker introduces an innovative place notification feature. Users can designate specific monitoring zones effortlessly. Subsequently, they receive instant alerts whenever the tag enters or exits these predefined boundaries. The system also meticulously retains location history for up to seven days. Furthermore, dedicated movement detection alerts immediately notify the owner if the tag unexpectedly shifts position.
Durability and Security
This resilient accessory boasts an IP67 rating for superior dust and water resistance. It also features a highly practical NFC-powered lost mode. If someone discovers a missing tag, scanning it quickly reveals the owner’s registered contact information. Naturally, the system fully supports robust location data encryption. Users can also control various SmartThings IoT devices directly from the tag. Finally, helpful left-behind alerts prevent you from losing your valuables in the first place.
Device Compatibility Notes
It is important to note specific hardware requirements. The advanced Compass View feature specifically demands a Galaxy device equipped with ultra-wideband or advanced Bluetooth detection. Compatible models include the cutting-edge Galaxy S26 Ultra and the Galaxy Z Fold 8. Unfortunately, iOS devices cannot access the Compass View function. Furthermore, Apple hardware does not support remotely ringing the phone or receiving left-behind alerts.
