LG Announces New AIDC Chiller Plant in the United States
A Monumental Investment in Thermal Management
On October 1, LG Electronics officially declared its strategic intention to construct its third global artificial intelligence data center (AIDC) chiller plant in the United States. Concurrently, the esteemed technology corporation will elevate production capacities at its two existing South Korean manufacturing hubs located in Pyeongtaek and Changwon. Ultimately, this ambitious expansion represents a staggering combined investment of 150 billion won.
State-of-the-Art Manufacturing in Virginia
Situated in the industrious city of Windsor, Virginia, the forthcoming American facility will cover an expansive 170,000 square meters. The site will feature a meticulously designed 30,000-square-meter architectural structure entirely dedicated to producing cutting-edge air-cooled AIDC chillers. Industry analysts project that this advanced factory will officially commence operations in the second half of 2027. This brilliant geographic strategy successfully localizes critical production within North America. Consequently, it empowers the enterprise to react swiftly and gracefully to ever-evolving regional customer demands.
Comprehensive Cooling Solutions
Beyond expanding its physical manufacturing footprint, LG Electronics continues to broaden its overarching thermal management business portfolio. The visionary company proudly champions a comprehensive “chip-to-chiller” strategy. This holistic approach flawlessly integrates sophisticated cooling units, high-performance coolant distribution units (CDUs), and precision-engineered cold plates to masterfully regulate extreme data center temperatures.
