Nintendo Switch Online Adds Three Classic Game Boy Advance Games
On October 14, Nintendo announced three new Game Boy Advance games for Nintendo Switch Online members. The newcomers are Metal Slug Advance, Monster Rancher Advance, and Kururin Paradise.
How to Play the New Additions
According to Nintendo’s official announcement, all three games have joined the Game Boy Advance – Nintendo Classics library. Players on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 can enjoy them. However, they need a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscription.
Meet the Three Games
Metal Slug Advance
SNK released Metal Slug Advance on the GBA in 2004. It is the series’ handheld entry, built around action shooting. Players take the role of a special forces recruit. They face simulated combat training missions on a remote island. Limited equipment makes every challenge harder.
Monster Rancher Advance
Tecmo published Monster Rancher Advance as a spin-off of the Monster Rancher series. It launched in Japan in 2001 and reached North America in 2002. The game centers on raising monsters and managing their growth. Players can also train their creatures and send them into battle.
Kururin Paradise
Eighting developed Kururin Paradise, which arrived in 2002. It is the sequel to Kuru Kuru Kururin, released in 2001. Players steer a constantly spinning stick through winding mazes. They must avoid touching walls and obstacles. Public reports show the game never received an official release outside Japan before now.
About the GBA Library
GBA games joined the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack service in February 2023. Besides the GBA library, this membership tier offers classic libraries for Nintendo 64 and the Sega Mega Drive.
