No Man’s Sky iOS Launch Announced for October 28
Expanding the Infinite Universe to Mobile
Developer Hello Games officially announced today that the highly acclaimed game No Man’s Sky will launch on the Apple iOS platform on October 28. Consequently, this massive release will seamlessly support both iPhone and iPad devices.
A Journey Through a Procedural Galaxy
No Man’s Sky is a sprawling action-adventure survival game that originally debuted in August 2016 for the PlayStation 4 and Windows platforms. Within this expansive title, players freely explore a procedurally generated, deterministic open universe. Remarkably, this boundless galaxy contains an astonishing 18 quintillion planets. Furthermore, many of these unique celestial bodies host their own diverse and fascinating flora and fauna.
The Vision Behind the Mobile Port
Sean Murray, co-founder of Hello Games, provided valuable insight into this ambitious project. He explained that after successfully porting the game to the Mac in 2023, the development team deeply desired to bring the full experience to the iPhone.
Optimized Gameplay and Hardware Requirements
The upcoming iOS version of No Man’s Sky features a completely redesigned touchscreen interface. This ensures intuitive and fluid navigation across the mobile platform. Additionally, the iPad iteration proudly supports external controllers, keyboards, and mice. Most impressively, the total game file size will remain under a compact 5GB. Therefore, it will efficiently run on the iPhone 11, the iPad Air 3, and all subsequent models.
Current Limitations and Future Updates
However, players should note that the initial iOS release will temporarily exclude multiplayer functionality and the popular settlement features. The development team promises to gradually integrate these elements in future updates. Ultimately, they will base these subsequent additions heavily upon ongoing player feedback.
